Rebecca, 16-18 months

Rebecca is turning into such a fun, spunky toddler!  Although she only says a few words still (dada, uh oh, go, and no) she understands everything we tell her to do.  As her pediatrician said about her lack of speech "why would she need to say anything when she has 6 people wrapped around her finger?!".  Good point! Anything she gestures at, someone is there ready to give to her.  Her favorite things to do are climb on anything tall (desk, table, counter) and play outside. She's constantly getting on her shoes, pointing to the door, and saying "Go!".  She loves to be outside. We try to go on a walk every day, and she just loves babbling at the birds and squirrels we pass.
Rebecca's favorite foods are peanut butter, cheese, pizza, and pancakes.  She demands that she sit in a big chair at the table--she's always trying to be like her big sisters and brother! We joke that she doesn't realize she's a baby.  She thinks she should be doing everything they get to do. She goes up and down the stairs all by herself now and can take off running in the blink of an eye.

Rebecca LOVES when the big kids get home each day, but she really thinks they should give her their undivided attention. She doesn't like that they have to do homework instead of playing with her! So the kids usually give her something to do at the table so she can be part of homework time.

As soon as I turn my back, Rebecca is usually climbing on something. She learned how to use a stepstool too, so now the possibilities are endless! She sometimes climbs places and gets stuck, then just hangs out till someone finds her :)

She loves her baby dolls, and is so sweet giving them hugs and kisses.  She's in her class at church 3 days a week, since there is Sunday, then I teach a Bible study on Tuesdays, then I attend one on Thursdays.  She's really getting used to that class and usually walks right in waving.  She waves at EVERYONE she sees and continues to wave until they acknowledge her! She's used to a high level of attention at home and she demands that everywhere she goes :) She loves music--both dancing to it and singing it. She hums along to Sunday school songs like Jesus Loves Me and dances too.  She gets so happy when someone starts singing to her!

At Rebecca's 18 month checkup, she was 30 inches long and 21 pounds, which is about the 7th percentile for both.  Right where those Vespa babies hang out!
